We don't have a data team — are we too early for this?
Probably not. About 40% of our roadmaps start by recommending data-foundation work as a Q1 priority — the AI value comes Q2 onward. The workshop is exactly how you find out whether you're ready, expensively or otherwise.
Will you also build what's on the roadmap?
Yes, if you want us to — Sitect's six capability teams can pick up the build directly. But there's no obligation. The roadmap is a stand-alone artefact you can hand to any vendor (or your in-house team). We charge for the strategy and the build separately so you're never paying for an implicit upsell.
Do you do NDAs?
We sign your NDA before discovery interviews start. If you don't have one, we'll send ours — short, plain English, mutual.
Can we have a fractional CTO instead?
For a longer-term advisory relationship, yes — we offer fractional CTO retainers after the roadmap engagement (from R18k/mo). The 2–3 week workshop is the right starting point either way; it gives both sides enough signal to know if there's a longer fit.
What about POPIA?
Every roadmap explicitly tags use cases against POPIA Sections 19, 23 and 71 (security safeguards, notification, and prior authorisation). For high-risk cases we'll recommend the specific data-residency pattern (on-prem, EU, ZA, etc.) and the audit trail you'll need.
Who will actually do the work?
A senior AI strategist (10+ yrs) leads the engagement end-to-end. You meet them in the discovery call, you meet them in week 2's workshop, and they personally write the artefacts. No bait-and-switch.
What if the roadmap says we shouldn't do AI?
It happens. About 1 in 8 of our engagements concludes with "your highest-ROI move is to fix your CRM data, not to bolt AI onto it." You still walk away with the six deliverables. We'd rather lose a build than sell you one that fails.
